So I hate to disappoint you guys but this blog entry is
probably going to be the least exciting one.
The last 3 days we have not done much and it has been really nice! Since
we got to Thailand we have been on the go so much so just to have a few days to
relax was great. Sunday was James and
Emmy’s last day here. We took a taxi up
to our new hotel, which was pretty far away.
The hotel we stayed at was a nature hotel. It was beautiful and unlike any other. We stayed in a house with a big deck and for
the majority of the day we just talked and read outside. We had some great laughs and I would have to
say it was a great way to end our adventure with James and Emmy. They left at 8:30PM and before they left we
ordered pizza to be delivered from PIZZA HUT hahaha. Could we be more American? The phone number
for pizza hut here is the same in the entire country 1150! So funny. The funniest part is when they delivered the
pizza they gave us about 50 packets of ketchup.
Not sure if that is a Thai thing or what but we did not use one of
them. Monday was our lazy day. We went
to our new hotel in Chiang Mai and rested for a while. I blogged a bit and then we went to lunch at
our favorite place in Chiang Mai, Sticky Rice Café. We ended be there for a couple hours and
chatting with the owners. One of the
owners does a little photography so of course, Casey was chatting him up about
cameras. They were such nice people. The
food there was excellent as well.
New Year’s Eve was pretty great here. The pictures and my words can’t quite
describe how cool it all was. There were
lanterns everywhere! We let one go, which was amazing!! Check off the bucket
list. We sat by the canal for a while
watching all the lanterns and the fireworks.
Thai people know how to party! The hotel we were staying in put us on
the 8th floor and we decided to go back before midnight and I am so
glad we did. We had the most amazing
view! There were so many fireworks in every direction, I didn’t know where to
look first. I have never seen anything
like it. Along with the lanterns, it was
so beautiful! Great way to end 2013. We
are now off to Krabi and the islands to have some beach time! Happy new year
everyone!!!
Love you all!
Joce, reading this and seeing the pictures makes me want to cry. I'm so happy for you guys and that you get to have this incredible experience. I can't wait to hear more about it!
